Lights, Camera, and Rural Latitude: The Film Club is Born in Serrinha do Alambari
17 April - 2026
We invite residents of Serrinha, followers, and the entire community that accompanies Silo to name our film club! Participate in the naming campaign and help build the identity of this space of art and encounter.
The courtyard of Escola Municipal Moacir Coelho da Silveira, in Serrinha do Alambari (Resende–RJ), has transformed into a portal to other worlds. What began in December as a film screening proposal matured in April into a true intergenerational meeting point. Now, the Silo – Arte e Latitude Rural project reaches a crucial moment: it is time for the community to give a name to this story.
The Community Takes the Lead
The film club does not yet have an official name for a simple reason: it belongs to the audience. During the last session, several suggestions began to emerge spontaneously among those present. We want this to be a space that is truly yours, built collectively.
“Art and culture gain even more strength when shared in our territory. The Film Club is a reflection of this encounter between rural latitude and collective imagination.”
The naming campaign is still open! We want to hear from residents and Silo followers, children and families alike. What name captures the soul of this gathering?

A Journey of Enchantment: From Ponyo to Pluft
The first seed was planted in December, when the audience gathered to watch “Ponyo: A Friendship from the Sea”, by Studio Ghibli. It was a night of joy and sharing, marking the beginning of an initiative that seeks to strengthen community bonds through the seventh art.
In April, the second edition elevated the experience. The screening of “Pluft, the Little Ghost” brought a special surprise: the presence of director Rosane Svartman. In addition to sharing behind-the-scenes stories and curiosities about the production, Rosane presented two exclusive making-of videos, immersing children and families in a deep dive into the art of filmmaking.

Next Steps
This initiative is carried out by Silo – Arte e Latitude Rural in a fundamental partnership with the Associação dos Moradores da Serrinha do Alambari (AMOROSA) and Escola Municipal Moacir Coelho da Silveira. It is this union that ensures the screen continues to shine in 2026 and beyond.
