Silo Is Featured in the Arte & Ensaios Journal Dossier

Scientific publication from UFRJ’s School of Fine Arts features a Dossier on Silo Arte e Latitude Rural

Published biannually by the Graduate Program in Visual Arts, the Arte & Ensaios Journal (issue no. 46) features Silo as part of a special Dossier on initiatives encompassing contemporary art in a dialogue involving intersections between art, territoriality, and collective practices.

Silo is presented through a sensitive and objective description of its actions, emphasizing the values that guide and stimulate the creation and development of its programs with a focus on the intersection of popular and scientific knowledge.

The Dossiers in this edition present 20 artistic collectives working in diverse ways, building dialogues based on practices that question and revisit the guiding values of contemporary society through engagement with “human and non-human groups violated by the colonial machine,” as defined by researchers Dinah de Oliveira and Livia Flores Lopes, who authored the edition’s Editorial.

The Arte & Ensaios journal is produced by UFRJ through the School of Fine Arts, and is grounded in publications by researchers interested in the contemporary art scene.
